Press front page competition

For the Press and Media’s week, we had the opportunitiy to work in parternership with the « Clemi ». Every single member present in the DNL option put their abilities to create the best front page of the country. Some of us wrote, some drew and the hero of the day, the great Gaspard literraly coded every line for the best result. So at 15 :53 , seven minutes before the deadline, after 6 hours of work, we sent or frontpage, which we hope wil be the future winner of the competition ! 

Wassim : « My job was to complete the task of making the title, which was the opposite of easy. Indeed, the job consisted in creating the headline of the front page. It took a long time to pick the right font for the title and to remplace the « O » of «chronicles » by a clock. »

 Lison and Anaé : « To make our frontpage look like a real newspaper frontpage, we decided to put some ads on it, such as : La Mie Praline, a reference to the bakery near our school, and the logo was hand-made. In each letter of our little ad, we drew a famous pastry, such as a cookie or a pie.
We made another one about our region, «  The County » . 

Fantine and Elise : « We chose two subjects in the press dispatch. We found the first subject in the international category, it was about Hong-Kong and phone passwords and we found another one in the unusual category, it was about an opposum who was hidding in a pile of teddy bears. »

Gabin and Neil : « To make the tribune for Holtzer’s Chronicles,we easily chose our topic about Nicolas Sarkozy.Then we dispatched the roles, Gabin had to write the article and Neil had to drew the caricature. We wanted to bring a more humoristic tone to the newspaper and this is also why we chose this topic. »

Mattéo and Martin : « We wrote the article which was named France local elections. We found information from a dispatch which was provided by AFP and from media’s website. We chose this subject because it was recent and interesting.

Gaspard : I worked as the modal maker of the team. The modal maker is the person who sets the articles, the ads, the title and the different information throughout the frontpage. With the group, we chose to build or frontpage with LaTeX, a coding language which is very useful to create PDF files. For me, it was a real challenge beacause of the short time we had. Despite the difficulty of the task, I really enjoyed to spend time coding this page because it was interesting to be the one who had to centralize and put forward the work of my teammates.

Baptiste and Gabin : We were in charge of the redaction of the sport news. Our article was about cycling, tennis and basketball news but, because of a lack of space, we had to cut the basketball section off. We picked our information out of a dispatch provided by the AFP. We finally illustrated our article with a logo we generated on Canva. 

We'd like to thank Mrs Hamdana and Mrs Bonhomme for their guidance and help. Thanks to Mme Hamdana, Mme Bonhomme, Charvy and the other adults who worked with us, we shared a great time together, creating this commun project filled with joy and collective effort.
With this project, we were able to learn in a different way from what we are used to. We found this experience very interesting because it showed us there's a lot of work behind the redaction of a newspaper.Moreover,We found this task very interesting because it's not something that we do every day. Everyone had a role to play, nobody was left aside. We loved working all together on this project !
